what is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is key to instantly plump fine lines and make your skin look dewy. It can be found in our chill! formula:grass & bang gang! formula:aphrodisia serum but what is it?
We give you the 4-1-1 on this hydrating powerhouse, including the correct way incorporate it into your skin care regimen.
Hyaluronic acid is not an exfoliating acid but a humectant found naturally in our skin that helps keep it nicely hydrated and juicy by holding a thousand times its weight in water to not only retain all that moisture in our skin, but also prevent it from evaporating.
Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient known to play well other ingredients and can be paired with retinols, antioxidants, and acids which is why we gave it a starring role in our formulas.
The only downside is that it can be used incorrectly and can lead to dehydration if applied to dry skin and not followed with moisturiser which is why we recommend applying our skincare to damp skin, ideally straight out of the shower as the molecule needs water to work, but without any moisture on the surface of your skin or from the environment it will pull the water from your skin.
To counteract further dehydration we always pair hyaluronic acid with other humectants like multi forms of algae as they assist creating a water bubble that acts as a non-clogging matrix to optimise the function of hyaluronic acid and help support topical water retention for your best skin ever!
